Our 2019 Neighbourhood Plan made clear the need for Claverdon to support renewable energy and mitigate the impact of climate change by becoming a carbon neutral parish, with solar energy identified as the likely route.

The Parish Council and CHARGE CIC are committed to supporting this by developing a Community Solar project, to provide renewable energy to the grid and long-term benefits for our community. This would be sited on low grade land in a well-hidden section of Park Farm, on the other side of the railway lines and we’d like to seek your views as part of an informal consultation process.

As part of this, we would like to invite residents on a guided walk of the proposed community solar farm and nature reserve site. These tours are open to everyone and will be family friendly.  They’ll give you the opportunity to understand where the site would be, what it will look like and any impact on our village.
